Our Values

Autonomy

Autonomy represents both our inner culture and our external investment thesis.  It defines how we operate: independently, as entrepreneurs, with accountability. Externally, it aligns with our commitment to decentralised technologies like blockchain, which enable individuals and communities to control their data, access capital, participate in economic growth, without gatekeepers.

In Africa, legacy systems often become the cause for exclusion of the majority, autonomy isn’t a luxury — it simply represents our case for liberation. Web3 will enable African solutions to leapfrog historical challenges because of prior trials which failed. We invest in digital infrastructure that gives people tools to take control of their own future. Autonomy represents access — for our team, our founders, and every user of these technologies, we further empower.

Mastery

Mastery represents that which we pursue — as individuals, as a team, and through the founders we back. We focus our efforts by funding the development of cutting edge  digital platforms in the Web3, AI and FinTech sectors, by dedicating our efforts to building transformative, high-performance ventures.

Africa is our playing field — together with its deeply intertwined challenges which demand both real solutions and talent, that thrives when afforded an opportunity. The problems faced by Africa — from unemployment to financial exclusion are urgent in nature. These challenges are visible and not peripheral by nature. Solutions built in Africa are resilient, practical, and scalable beyond borders. We invest in those who build excellence, through iteration, with intuition and purpose.

Mastery is best achieved from first principles — Africa has the potential to exceed global expectations, by redefining best practice.

Purpose

Purpose and profit are not trade-offs. The most significant long term financial returns are achieved, as a result of the impact achieved — the extent of impact possible is representative of the vastness of opportunity which is available for disruption. Africa is home to 60% of the world’s youth, yet remains vastly underserved by capital.

Africa's youth offers unmatched opportunity, to interested stakeholders, to participate in impactful growth, on an asymetrical basis: we have an abundant source of talent is abundant, with a scarce source of opportunity. This imbalance creates a rare and powerful space in which venture capital is able to thrive.

We back early-stage digital ventures that solve societal challenges, through incremental progress and ongoing development, generating results through long-term impact and superior financial performance.  Purpose is not a trade-off of any sort — it is a multiplier.
